In my current pass, I’m working on problems with the romantic subplot, so I tracked the love interest’s movements in brown and my protagonist’s emotional reaction in navy. The colors help me see how different themes/threads/subplots balance out in the story and whether I’m giving too much (or too little) page space to the various issues. Any of these extras could also be given their own columns, but I ran out of space, and the colors give me a better overview. |
